In recent years, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) has accelerated the approval process for innovative pharmaceuticals and medical devices, actively promoting the transformation of scientific research achievements into innovative products. Since 2018, the NMPA has successively released 494 Technical Review Guidelines for Medical Devices, providing strong support for R&D innovation and technical evaluation in the pharmaceutical and medical device sectors.
From January to August this year, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) approved 46 innovative medical devices, representing a 12.16% year-on-year increase. As of now, a total of 296 innovative medical devices have been approved for market entry, primarily concentrated in high-end sectors, including implantable and interventional devices, advanced endoscopic imaging equipment, and AI-powered medical devices. Some of these products have already reached a leading position internationally.
From October 12 to 15, 2024, the 90th China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF), themed "Innovative Technology, Leading the Future," will be held at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Bao’an).
