OverviewThe Fully Sealed Video Laryngoscope is a video laryngoscope for tracheal intubation in which the blade and handle are fully enclosed in a sealed housing, while the display remains external. The sealed enclosure protects the optical and electronic components from blood, secretions and other body fluids, and allows the blade and handle to be washed and immersion-disinfected as a single unit. The display sits outside the sealed body, so it does not obstruct the operator's view and can be cleaned separately by wipe-down.
Design & Working PrincipleA high-definition anti-fog, waterproof camera at the distal end of the blade captures the glottic view and sends the signal to an A/D converter for processing; the processed image is displayed on the external LCD screen in real time. The blade-to-handle junction is covered by a continuous seal, leaving no exposed seam for fluid ingress, so the assembly can be immersed without risk to the electronics.
